BUDGET & DISCRETIONARY FUNDS:

MPLN members had been asked at the General Business Meeting to send items

for consideration to Pam prior to Board Mtg. regarding how to use $2000.00 in            discretionary funds from our general budget. Options to consider by our board:

*MPLN – No entry fee to one special tournament for all who choose to                                       play (ie: Holly Jolly)

More information will be collected regarding some of the options to consider and           sent to the board for review prior to the next board meeting.  Board members are     to email a prioritized list of the options discussed to Pam to facilitate discussion/

            decision at the next meeting.

POLICY REVIEW:  Weekly League Play

WEEKLY SIGN UP:  The sign up day has been changed from Friday noon to Thursday noon at the request of Pro, Mike Jahaske.  This will match the time-line           for the tee sheet and allow them to better accommodate our needs and the             needs   of outside play.  This will become effective March 8th for play on the 13th.

Wording will be revised in the Policy to reflect this change at the next board mtg.

WEEKLY ELIGIBILITY:  It was requested by Linda Andrews to revise bullet #3                    wording on the weekly eligibility to read:

Five scores of games played on any USGA rated course are                                             needed to establish a trend handicap.

Eliminate sentence reading:  The five games must be posted by the first or

Fifteenth in order to have an official handicap.

Eliminate sentence reading:   Eligibility begins only after the five scores                            have been recorded and the appropriate time period is confirmed by the                               USGA printed Handicap Index.

Linda Andrews asked for clarification on the meaning of bullet #5.                                             Discussion followed and board members were requested to weigh in on                              this item prior to the next board meeting.  In the past eligibility has meant                               able to participate in the prize pool.  In the past players have been allowed                                     to “follow the field” – meaning to play on league day, but not be able to                                     earn prize money.

For consideration the following proposed wording would be:

A member will able to play on league day only after five                                        scores have been recorded and a trend handicap is established.

This would eliminate any “follow the field” options for weekly play.
