MPLN BOARD MEETING

                                                January 8, 2007

 

Meeting called to order by President, Pam Brunelle at 3:30.

 

PRESENT:  Pam Brunelle, Holly Rievere, Dolly Larson, Caralee Taylor, Marilyn Bertke, Marianne Cooley, Cheryl Peel, Diane Stowell, Nan Lemos, Carin Kirby, Anni Evans, Linda Andrews, Jean Liske, Betty Kunnen, Mary Gelinas.

 

WELCOME/INTROCUCTIONS:

Pam introduced all members and welcomed them to the New Year On the links.

 

GOALS/REVIEW AGENDA:

Pam announced that she will send out the proposed agenda and board members may make changes up to the Saturday before the meeting.  The goals for this meeting were to learn faces, names, and become familiar with the duties of the members.  She reminded the board of the confidentially of issues before the board.

 

VERBAL BOUQUETS:

Pam thanked all the members for their dedication, and urged all members to remember verbal bouquets in the future.

 

GUESTS:

Gail Brown, chairperson for the “Rally for the Cure” gave an overview of the plans for the tournament to be held in March 2007.  All the plans are on course, and all the information is on the web.

 

MISC COMMUNICATIONS:

Pam gave an AWGA dinner invitation in Phoenix on January 24, 2007 to Betty Kunnen, our AWGA rep.  The cost is $24.00 per person.  Anyone may attend.

 

BOARD MEMBERS SHARING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIS:

Each board member verbally talked about their position and the duties of each, in an effort to become better acquainted and informed.

 

ACE OF YEAR;

Linda Andrews gave an overview of the Ace of Year 2006 tournament to be held Tuesday, January 9, 2007.  There are 12 competitors, with the rest to follow the field.  The Ace winner will be kept secret until the January 23, Transition Dinner.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TRANSITION DINNER:

Pam gave an overview of plans for the dinner.  Ace winner will be announced.  There will be various other awards given.  Plans are for some surprise entertainment.  Recognition of Barney’s retirement also planned.  All plans are in place.

 

ROBSON CUP CHALLENGE:

Marilyn Bertke gave an overview of plans for the tournament, to be hosted by MPLN on February 7, 2007.  There will be 84 players representing Southern Arizona Robson Communities.  She asked for volunteers to work registration, shuttling people and photography.  Plans are well in place for the tournament.

 

MPLN INVIITATIONAL:

As time was short, discussion was tabled to a future date.  Pam did report that plans were moving along nicely.
